How Does a VI Peel Work?

A VI Peel works by penetrating the top layer of your skin, called the epidermis, and reaches into the dermis underneath. It works by exfoliating your skin and stimulating the production of new proteins. While the idea of a chemical peel might seem a little harsh on the skin, a VI Peel is safe to use for all skin types and will restore a more even skin tone, smooth away rough skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and even combat Keratosis Pilaris.

Active ingredients in a VI Peel include;

An excellent exfoliation that helps to stimulate collagen production.

Retinoic Acid

Which promotes collagen and elastin.

Salicyclic Acid

An anti-acne ingredient.

The exfoliant required to buff away dead skin cells and acts as a numbing agent.

Vitamin C

Powerfully anti-oxidant and brightens up dull skin.

Chemical Peel Treatment?

The VI Peel is administered by our advanced practitioner and takes about 30 minutes, and is usually painless. Our practitioner will first cleanse your skin to remove dirt and excess oil before applying the VI Peel solution. You may experience a tingling sensation once the first layer is applied, although this shouldn’t be uncomfortable.

Once the second layer is applied, your skin will frost. About 4-6 hours later, you’ll wash off the chemical peel at home and will be given some home care products such as a post-peel towel, repair cream and an SPF. Your skin will start peeling about 3 days after the procedure. The downtime should be approximately 7 days depending on your skin type.

SA – Salicylic Acid 30%

Treats acne, oily skin and hormonal break out.

Minimal-No down time, patients may experience a little frosting around the areas of concern, however the skin will recover quickly.

If you are suffering with acne or oil build up, a course of SA peels with 2-4 week intervals can help reduce symptoms. We do recommend a medical grade skincare routine alongside this treatment for optimal results.

MA – Mandelic Peel 40%

Perfect for all skin types, even rosacea. If you have a dull, ashy complexion, a mandelic peel can brighten and revive your complexion. Also, great for mature skin due to its anti-ageing benefits.

It is known to be antibacterial and antiviral and it encourages vascular turnover and regeneration while suppressing reddening skin chemical reactions.

Helps partially damaged blood vessels to function better and contract, making them less visible. If you are looking to target rosacea, a course of peels would be optimal with intervals of 2-4 weeks (along medical grade skincare routine).
