Are Fat Dissolving Injections Safe?
Fat Dissolving injections use an active ingredient called deoxycholate, which is found naturally in the body. This is injected into the treatment area using a cannula and performed by an experienced aesthetic doctor. Due to the cannula being blunt, it means no arteries, vessels etc can be injured or punctured. Over time this destroys the fat cells in the area which is then removed from the body by its very own lymphatic system. Fat Dissolving injections are a great alternative to surgery which involves going under the knife, infections and a significant recovery. Fat Dissolving injections can achieve contoured results, they are affordable and safe.
If your BMI is below an indicated threshold (usually 18.5) then you shouldn’t be administered the treatment, along with other medical conditions listed below. The fat dissolving injections are normally infused with Lidocaine, a strong anaesthetic, to make the treatment more comfortable. The treatment usually takes 30 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated. The body requires 6-8 weeks between treatment and multiple sessions may be required.
